 Services we offer

Career workshops

Key2advance has developed a series of foundational and specialised career workshops for BA, MA and PhD students. These range from how to write a CV and cover letter, through mastering interview and networking skills to how to get internships at the EU institutions and other international organisations. The workshops allow students to self-reflect, gain practical skills, sharpen their understanding of what various sectors look for in employees and build confidence to get started!

Career advice

We are a team of specialised career advisors who provide expert advice on how to prepare for a career in a variety of sectors such as: human rights, international and European law, EU institutions, International NGOs, the United Nations and Communication and PR agencies. The career advice sessions are designed to help students identify career goals, review application documents and plan their next steps. Students appreciate receiving practical tips and guidance from experts who know the European and international job market.

Internship coordination

key2advance gained valuable experience leading a prestigious internship program at the European Parliament for Humanity in Action fellows under the Patronage of Pat Cox. We currently secure and coordinate internships for Universities wishing to offer their students a professional experience alongside an academic degree. Due to our well-established networks, a clear understanding of the job and internship market and a passionate team, we narrow the gap between student and professional life.

Networking events

key2advance arranges larger and smaller networking events for universities to which practitioners from a variety of professional Brussels-based organisations are invited. These events provide students with an opportunity to practice their networking skills, learn about the Brussels ‘hidden’ job market as well as to meet potential employers in a social setting.

We work with students from all over the world running the entire span from undergraduates to PhD candidates in fields as diverse as arts and film to international relations and law. Many students receive training on how to write good research papers, conduct group work or present results in front of their class; but when it comes to getting a job, even the best students need support. In order to stay competitive, universities have recognized they need to offer students career services alongside an academic degree. This is where the key2advance team is an invaluable partner.

 Trending Employability Skills

In the international job market, where the majority of applicants have advanced academic qualifications and relevant work experience, employers are looking for employees who can enrich teams with fresh perspectives, fully developed capabilities and advanced written and verbal communication skills.
The aim of these workshops is to equip participants with the latest employability skills needed to give them a competitive advantage in today’s demanding and dynamic job market.

 Mapping the Brussels Job Market

There are many interesting and diverse careers in Brussels! Unfortunately, many career paths remain unknown and students or young professionals find themselves making un-informed decisions. Key2advance`s mission is to map the Brussels job market and make it more transparent and understandable.

Our method is to interview a variety of professionals from senior experts to trainees with the same five questions:
