IN SHORT
Olaf has 15 years of experience working in and around the European institutions in Brussels, focusing on political consultancy, marketing, project management, and European foreign policy. Since November 2020 he has been working on international cooperation in civil protection for the EU in DG ECHO. From 2012 to 2020 he worked in the European External Action Service as Policy Analyst, as Policy Coordinator for climate change diplomacy, as Human Rights Focal Point in the EU Delegation to Bosnia & Herzegovina, and as Management Training Organiser in EEAS HQ. Olaf’s previous work has included: filming and production of a documentary film, an assignment with the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Ramallah/Palestine as Programme Coordinator, and as the Information and Communication Officer for the EU Commission on the Digital Agenda for Europe. He speaks German, English, French and basic Arabic.
